Retirement plans and Medicare

If you are considering retirement, then you will want to know if your employer offers a retirement health plan.

  • These plans are typically group plans, and have different rules when it comes to prescription drug coverage.

Your employer may also have set up an account to help you pay for a health plan.

  • If that is the case, you may have to use a brokerage or exchange of their choice to have access to those funds.

It is important to talk to  your human resources department, or whomever may be handling the retirement insurance options from the employer, before considering a change from it.

  • Know what your options are, IF you change your mind.  You may learn that they do not allow you to return, once you leave them.

  • You will want to know if there are any requirements or restrictions to access any funds your employer may have provided for your health insurance needs.

  • What about coverage for your spouse?

You may even be offered COBRA.

Now… Once you have learned what the retirement options are, and you are ready to look for a plan for yourself… Medicare Options
